- The console may temporarily show scrambled output if placed too close to the sub-whoofer/bass. Other symptoms are (in a few reported cases) the inability to turn on the speakers via remote or the console.
The solution is to move the console/controller away from the speakers, turn off and unplug the device completely. After a short period of time it should revert to its previous functionality.

I had this happen too
I have these myself.
I have to say I agree with what you said and I also experienced the scrambled console after putting it too close to the sub.
I'll add this to the other user submissions.

I have a set of these, they are excellent speakers, as good as many expensive home theatre speakers but be careful where you place the silver amp/volume controller. I used to place it next to the Sub, my girlfriend was vacuming the lounge one day and placed it on top of the Sub.
After a day of being there I turned it on and the interface was scrambled. I was gutted.
I moved it back to the original position and left it for a day and it came good.
I tested it and managed to reproduce the results <--- Me scientific :)
It is more than likely the magnet in the sub temporarily scrambled the interface.
It may actually have this in the documentation for the speakers but I don't have it anymore and I thought it might be worth mentioning for others.
