An Apology To Our Regular Users
Those of you who use the site regularly will have noticed an increase in advertisements (left and right) Or a change in the type of adverts displayed.
Originally all the affiliate links were un-obtrusive and always in the same place (the buttons of each product listing. and the side bars). We have always been honest about how the site is run - you can read this full blog and the FAQ if you don't know.
The Apology
I always try to be honest and inform the users about the good and stupid or bad things I do.
I have recently increased the advertising on the site, I am very sorry about this and hope it isn't an inconvenience.
I don't like advertisements myself so I have in the past tried to keep them to a minimum but it is getting close to the time of year where I need to pay for the crappy hosting and renew the domain registration. The revenue from the site has been..... well lets just say the last 7 months wouldn't pay for a coffee and a sandwich, it might get me a coffee
That may have been my own fault but I am still learning how to do most of this stuff.
I didn't make this site to profit ( again read the earlier blog posts ) but I would like it to eventually become self sufficient. In order to kick start the possibility I changed the way banners etc. are being displayed. They are still in the same places but now there are a wider variety of them.
I can't see the all the banners displayed to other users, just the ones in my region, so if there are any that are offensive please report them I will see if I can get them removed . You will need to tell me where the banner goes or the advertiser.
I hope you understand.

Hello,
This is the first time I've been to your site. I read your blog on how things came to be, and I want to thank you for sharing the progression. I'm not entitled to know these things, so I seldom here about how they work. Or don't. But, big G!, am I curious!
I'm a student in Business Information Systems--PC Applications. I'm still in the hands-off courses. At home, I know enough to be dangerous. I want to learn how to do it all, and for trying, I've had to lay our serious cash to get someone to fix my tinkering. I want to understand this stuff I'm too, er, *mature* to have grown up with.
So! The insight you offer is good for my soul. I'll be prowling around, searching stuff, and to heck with the ads, every site has to have them. Good luck to you!
Wendy
