- Can run very hot, especially if copying files & running continuously.
- Hard drive is not user serviceable.
- Limited networking and network storage features.
- No backup for Windows.
- You need to install Bonjour on any Windows-based machines if you want to share either the printer or the storage with.
- No Web interface.
- No remote access for Windows users
- No media or iTunes server.
- Setup, administration, and storage sharing require OS X 10.4 or later.
- People have experienced corruption problems (firmware update at the link)
EDIT: Some people have been experiencing problems with the firmware upgrade. Please head over to the Apple support page to futher research the firmware befor installing. There may be a newer version of the firmware available.
To extend the lifetime of the device it is recommended that you use some metyhood to cool the drive - possibly a laptop cooling fan.
EDIT: we have received very few submissions for this device since the previous firmware issues were reported - could current users confirm or refute the issues above concerning "web interfaces" remote windows administration etc. Were these features added in a more recent firmware update?

This thing ran slow for me, it seems to be how it works especially the first time you set it up. The whole experience was a waste of time anyway because this "backup solution" corrupted my data with the firmware update, so I can confirm the risk is there. Newer firmware may be better so if you get one of these follow the advice and link above. Check the support forum and see if there is a newer firmware available.
