- The integrated Blue-ray player is a "budget model" however the the image quality is good and the player is removable, which means you don't have to send the whole unit back to be repaired if it fails.
- Can be slow to read discs
- As indicated by the user comments below updating the firmware to 2.01 can be problematic. We sent three e-mails, two to Sharp Australia and one to the international support site to ask if they were aware of the issue or if there was a fix. We only ever received an automated "thank you for your e-mail" style response.
- Blue-ray player can be troublesome Quote below from CNET.au review
"Disks would occasionally get stuck halfway and be ejected again, and if you tried to push them in the unit would swallow them and click noisily at you."

Blu Ray Disk Player
I have the same issue as the previous poster. Just tried watching Avatar and got an annoying time line popping up. If I could find where to download the latest software for the Blu Ray player I'd be nervous about installing it based on the other persons post.
I just bought this TV and spent a bit of money so it's really disappointing that the third blu-ray disk I try and watch presents problems.

I've just updated the Blu Ray
I've just updated the Blu Ray Player software from the Sharp site and it won't play Avatar at all now. It still plays DVDs and some older Blu Ray, but it's a real pain not knowing which Blu Ray's it'll play. Guess I'll be calling Sharp on Monday

Do not upgrade to version 2.01 Firmware
I upgraded my firmware to version 2.01 from the Sharp site and now it doesn't recognise blu-ray disks. It tells me that it can't read them cos there dirty or in backwards. These disks used to play fine before.
Chances are they rushed out version 2.01 for Avatar and didn't test it properly. Wait till Sharp puts out anotherfirmware release before upgrading

Though we haven't been able to verify this user submitted issue we feel that it is important enough to place it here in the comments in full as it refers to upgrading the firmware to Version 2.01.
Please seek further info from the support page before upgrading the firmware. ( the support link is above )
If we can verify this as not being an isolated issue we will incorporate it to the main product entry.
Thank you for the submission.
