- No front facing camera
- Motorola doesn't want you modding, hacking or jail-breaking the Droid X. It built eFuse into the phone, which encrypts the bootloader and reverts the phone to a blank state if any detected changes are made to the underlying system ( This means loading a custom ROM is difficult, but you can reload the official ROM).
- There has been progress in gaining root on the device, there are at the time of writing several custom ROMs now available.
