They charge monthly fees for only a few channels.
They claim to provide 20 channels of viewing, but if all you have is the device and no extra service you get far fewer.
Poor receiver quality / inconsistent signal is often reported.
Quoted coverage area is often not representative of actual usable locations.
No video in or out ports.

Many users have suggested that a slingbox, and smartphone, netbook or tablet would be a better, more reliable and cheaper purchase.
