- Data on the drive is encrypted which reduces a consumers freedom to access and manipulate stored items.
- A non fault tolerant "striped RAID array" spanning two drives is used.(Expander and the TiVo drive) This means if one drive fails you stand to lose the data on both. If you don't understand the RAID configuration this article offers a simple explanation.
- Data is not portable due to the above two issues.
- Short SATA cord.
