Belkin
The below information has been compiled to help you find support for products produced by Belkin. If the listed details are wrong, out of date or unavailable and you know the correct links or information we would appreciate it if you would use our contact form to let us update this entry.
Similarly, if there is any other information you feel should be included here we would like to know about it. We will compile a list of news items which refer to Belkin. If you feel there is a news story or any other information consumers should be aware of that is relevant to Belkin we would like you to submit it to us so that we can update this entry.
In 2003 Belkin released a home use wireless router which would occasionally replace user's HTTP requests with an advertisement for Belkin's filtering software. Belkin received some intense criticism for this from technically literate customers and others who described it as a man-in-the-middle attack or a form of session hijacking. Belkin initially treated this as a public relations problem rather than a highly inappropriate action on their part, but later relented and removed this intentional malfunction from their products.
The next item is something you should be aware of if you are going to purchase a Belkin product via an online vendor based on the reviews. Accusations of them soliciting positive but false reviews for products on Amazon.
This item is in reguard to company support, or in this case the removal of it.
One of our own user reviews discovered that Belkin had ceased a support option for a product. It was an on-line forum that was becoming a PR nightmare. Many complaints and endorsements for competing products lead them to disable futher comments by the public prior to the christmas season of 2008, and no-one noticed because of the sly way in which it was implemented. Product abandonment ?

Belkin....
RMA Approval
This is their saving grace, I have returned 3 Belkin items via an RMA. Though I will not be purchasing any items from this company ever again I have to admit the RMA policy that I experienced was excellent.
The oldest Item I returned was over a year old, I sent them an email requesting the RMA and they responded asking for the serial or product number on its base. After that they sent an email requesting my shipping details etc, they paid for the shipping and I recieved the item from overseas within one week.
I just checked and they have a page set up for this now, it's here.
The detailed listing on this site has a few links to news articles that you should take a look at if you find this review via a google search.
