Stats And Visitors Are Rising Slowly, A Bit Of Hope

Made my first referral yay!!!

The site worked as I hoped. I checked the logs, someone browsed the "external hard drive" listings, visiting three or four items, they would have checked for issues , then at some point he or she used the site as a gateway to Amazon. This gives me hope that the site can be helpful to people and support itself in the future.

All the stats for the site are improving.

There have been a few people who have registered, comments have been left on a couple of the entries and I received an e-mail from an older man in Spain who seemed happy that the site was available to him.

I added phones to the product listings. I didn't want to at first.

I know people love their phones and there would be a lot of interest in the listings but maintaining that many items will be a lot of work, especially as the issues associated with phones can usually be traced back to the carrier and its customizations. I will have to be careful how I list them.

At the moment everything is updated by hand, I found another broken link last night, there are probably more. I am working on a fix for that problem that may circumvent future problems and allow for me to maintain the site more easily.

This is where I think I realized that I followed the wrong path. I felt , and still do, that the site had potential to be successful , but in its current state it was hard to update and maintain. The more listings I added the harder it was going to be to maintain it if I needed to change the details of the listings site wide.
