Evolution Of The Site.

This is the site blog , I am putting this up to document the sites progression. If you are about to make your own site then reading this may help you. You can learn from my mistakes and I will try to detail any tips, tools and successes. Any text in a "bold itallic black font" is text that I have come back and added, usually it's to detail something I did wrong or add information I was previously unaware of.

I have no previous experience with php, css, CMS's or any other web authoring  technology and I am going to attempt to build a successful, useful website.

So why this website?

My girlfriend purchased a present for me, something I had wanted for a while that I had tried to order previously online. The company that I purchased it from never sent the item, it took over a month to get my money back and the issue resolved. (after waiting through 2 months of excuses) I will never deal with them again. When I was given the item it disappointed me, as many of the advertised features didn't work, they had shipped it with an incomplete feature set. Probably thinking that they could later implement them with firmware or driver updates. Realiseing the item wasn't what marketing or the box it came in described, I felt ripped off. The frustration of the earlier attempt at buying it just compounded this feeling. I thought "I wish there was somewhere I could have gone online to see all a products faults" no marketing, no hype just tell me what is wrong with it before I blow my cash. (in this case my wonderful girlfriends' cash). So that was the idea. I had never made a website befor, but recently I have had plenty of time because I am "between jobs" . I took a small amount of money, registered the domain and aquired the web space. That was on the 7 of January 2009
